Paul McKenna is the founder and Group CEO of mac-group, a leading construction and interior fit-out company established in 2002. Under his leadership, mac-group developed from a single-employee business into a multinational company employing more than 200 professionals.
By 2018, the company’s annual revenue had reached €200 million, making it the ninth-largest construction company in Ireland. Following a reorganisation after the COVID-19 pandemic, mac-group redirected its strategic focus towards the UK and Middle Eastern markets.
Paul is also a significant shareholder and Managing Partner of Pure Fitout, a leading specialist fit-out company operating across Ireland and the UK.
Paul's Story
Paul founded mac-group in 2002 with one employee and a clear ambition: to challenge established industry practices, differentiate the company through innovation and consistently deliver on its commitments to clients.
Over the following 17 years, he developed mac-group into an international construction and interior fit-out business employing more than 200 professionals across four offices in Ireland and the UK. By 2018, annual revenue had reached €200 million (£177 million), with Linesight ranking mac-group as Ireland’s ninth-largest construction company by revenue.
The company’s growth was underpinned by strong client relationships, high delivery standards and Paul’s ability to attract, develop and empower talented people. Following a post-pandemic reorganisation, mac-group adapted its strategy and increased its focus on opportunities in the UK and the Middle East.
